We have used a couple models of the Sony Blu-Ray player with streaming functions and have had them lock up.
One of the guys at work had looked into it and from memory found it is a Sony issue when using Netflix.

I now have at home one of the players and gets a lot of use for Netflix and at least once every couple of days I need to pull the power on it to get it to work again.
