Wow, I would blame more on the speakers than the amp. The Sonos amp impressed me so many times... i think the only time i was not happy with the end result was a connect amp driving 4 Bose Freespace landscaping speakers we installed one time. we ended up using a Connect amp + a Crown amp.
Were talking about the new Sonos amp, not the connect amp. (Stupid nomenclature)
The Connect amp left a lot to be desired, but compared to the AMP it’s heads and tails better (assuming there is something wrong with the amps that have no volume)
