Alexa integration has greatly improved since it first came out. Initially companies rushed our skills that only abou half worked. Over the last week I’ve started playing with Alexa again to see if it can be useful. I like it for turning lights on and off. I created a Goodnight routine where Alexa turns off the living room and kitchen lights, sets one light in the kitchen to 30%, locks both doors, (for some reason she usually can’t get the locks to respond) and turns off my living room system. For these types of things, I like Alexa. I can say “Alexa, goodnight” and leave the room. But for controlling tv sources, it’s awkward and slow. A remote control is a lot faster.

My programming day was clunky Volume up and down commands were enough for me to want to exclude Alexa from my vocabulary forever. Haven't programmed lights yet. Which devices are you using for lights? In-wall switches, etc.
