There is no difference if the answers are the same. Are you telling me that you assume answers are the same from us and from the guy at the company? That kind of assumption can get you into trouble. I mean, it's reasonable to assume that Epson has documentation on their video processors, too, but... [Link: remotecentral.com]

This works, too- using it on an installation to send IR to a few pieces (using the dual emitters and connect to the IR port on two others, with the 2.5mm-3.5mm adapter.

That's exactly what was said.

When URC still had 2.5mm jacks, the first question at training sessions was an angry "When are you getting rid of those stupid jacks???????????" and the trainer would just roll his eyes, then talk about something else.

This is the exact reaction you can expect when someone has made a mistake and doesn't want to talk about it. Marguerite is the one who let it slip at a training that URC had made an error.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
