It's late 2018...and my Pronto is still running (so happy). Anyway, I ran into this problem for my first time ever last night. I tried reading multiple threads on what to do and it still came up with the error. I found a combination of actions work:
* Unplug as many USB devices that you can. The HID devices in Device Manager will disappear! * Plug in a wired mouse (only) * Turn OFF your pronto remote, wait 30 seconds and turn it back on (using the switch on the upper left side). Essentially reboot it.
That worked for me every time. Just thought I would throw this message out there to help any last survivors of Philips Pronto products (that I really wish they didn't stop producing).
