That distributor was not talking very carefully. Saying the new chipset should "fix" the issue is like saying "This new video source has an HDMI output. That should 'fix' the fact that the old one only had VGA." Or that use of an FM tuner "fixes" the problem you had trying to get FM on an AM tuner. It's a little deeper than fixing.
