If you've done this before and it was that easy, I'd be interested to know...

I've installed quite a few of the Activated Design/Auton lifts and the "motor" is sealed inside a linear actuator and the linear actuator is fabricated into the lifting mechanism.  I've never had one fail so haven't had to attempt a repair, but being familiar with the product, it sure doesn't look that easy to me.
