Ever since I learned (1973, I think) that the lowly 2N3903 can be used as a switch, I have used relays only when the crudity of the electrical interruption required it. How f*cking ironic that what is touted as the world's best video transmission scheme needs the introduction of a relay to get it to work right. Sadder and way beyond that, even, is the fact that what this video system is not doing, without the relay, is just friggin' turning on in response to an ON command.
We really ARE stuck with this forever, aren't we? Can anyone say the problems have lessened?
