We struggled more with it not shutting off with the lack of motion. We have it on the lease sensitive setting and it seems to work OK. I have noticed that it takes a minute to wake up, so i thought it was not responding. I think you can actually see the motion detector flash when it sense you for the first time when the TV is asleep.

I wonder if the mantel is blocking any of the sensor signal? Cant tell how deep it is.

PS. we warn clients about the touchy settings, that it is not perfect and limited adjustability.
