There is not much danger of EoP going out into the region. Power lines are not very efficient at transporting the high frequencies required to force 100+ Mbps data over the power line. In fact jumping across to the other phase in a home environment often attenuates the signal enough to cause problems. If the outlet on the other side of the room is on the other phase, the signal may not cross the room. A sub panel can cause issues. Good power conditioners are a big issue.

We regularly get into heated discussions over category wiring. Should it be 5, 6, 7, or what? Shielded? Which connector is best? Should we use a patch panel? For EoP should we use Romex, MX, what gauge? Why are there no discussions regarding the best EoP wire? Should we insert couplers across the phases? What if there is some Knob And Tube wiring? Is one type of power outlet better than others?
