I have never liked them but don't have a lot of experience with them. I just used a pair of Ubiquiti Nanostation Loco M2s to bridge a wired network between a main house and a barn a few days ago. Wireless fed the signal to the barn and connected the second Nanostation to a POE switch to feed cameras. Works perfectly. Not sure if practical in a house from one area to another. It was not expensive either.
