IMO the quickest way to get rid of good employees is to treat them like low skilled day labor.
Lets add VERY WELL PAID employee's doing some menial task when things are slow.
If there was nothing more for me to do than wash the owners car, and I was making REALLY good money, I would be all too happy to be outside screwing around while making great money.
Hell of a lot better than being sent home and making nothing.
