I made several long airline flights a few years ago and somewhere, maybe even at the airport, I found a $40 or so over the ear set by RCA. The treble wasn't great but the lack of noise was!
I really hate to say it, but Bose makes good noise-cancelling headphones (they also make swell shock absorbers).
