This weekend, DirecTV tech came out to troubleshoot my system, in my home.

HR44 DVR was supposed to power the LNB, but because of distances, had to use an inserter.

Replaced all connectors, repointed dish, replaced LNB, no dice. Then realized distance could be a factor. ~200' total, from LNB to DVR, with travel from the dish, down 3 floors to the basement splitter, up 3 floors back to the attic, across the house, down 2 floors to the DVR.

Fixed months of gremlins. Worked fine without the inserter, for about a year.
