I've had three messages today that the IRS has put out an arrest warrant for me, the first time I heard it, for a second or two I was worried. I'm not sure what someone is trying to gain on that one, but I'm not calling back!
I've seen bulletins from local law enforcement notifying people that the IRS does not call people. If you are in trouble with the IRS, you will receive a registered letter. These calls hope to scaring people into trying to settle quickly over the phone with credit cards or checking account numbers.
I got a call today about refinancing my student loans. But I've never had a student loan. My wife did, but my grandfather paid hers off about she and I were married about 15 years ago.
