We are over fishing the oceans, and 30 years ago in much of the US, wildlife was almost nonexistent. When I was little, people rarely saw deer in these mountains, turkeys were nonexistent, and if you wanted to see a bear, you had to go to a tourist attraction and see one that had been bottle raised. People trying to live off the land almost eliminated all wildlife in the Appalachian mountains. Fortunately, thanks to wildlife preservation programs, that's been changed. But I don't want it to go back. I have no sympathy for cows, pigs, chickens, or any other animals raised for the purpose of food. My grandparents had a rule on the farm. Don't name the food.
Things seem okay right now. Wait until there are 15 billion pitre dishes running around out there.
We need to reduce the population by about 5 billion.
