In IL, Lutron RadioRa and Homeworks RF dimmers have had to go into metallic boxes all the time. The range is lower than when in Carlon boxes, but it's still acceptable.

In my case the caseta bridge is on top of the rack not 5 feet from where the panel will be.
Again I would never offer this as a solution for a client but for my own house, being poor and all it will be fine! If circumstances were different and I wasn't dirt poor from the wedding of HER dreams I would do panelized lighting all day long. But she's moving in in 3 weeks and she (rightfully so) can't and shouldn't have to live with a few lamps.
