I Guess I just fail to see how a bunch of home run sonos boxes would ever need to be a "Sonos only" job.

We use Matrix Switches and the number of streams reasonable for the house. Usually Bluesound or Autonomics based.. But sometimes a sonos or 2.

I've never put more than 4 Sonos's in a home run location.... and somehow all my systems work too...

I'm clearly in the minority here though.. so I'll leave it at that.

I dont care how great you are, how amazing your programming is or what have you, you just cannot beat the ease of use and functionality of the sonos app. Before sonos yanking C4s driver it was really good and I found my clients tended to just use C4 but now its bad....

I lost a very good client due to this debacle. he has 19 zones of audio and only 3 people living in the house, therefor i did 3 connects. Before he was happier then a clam, but now with the piss poor driver he has a hard time knowing when to go back and forth between C4/Sonos. Before he "fired" me I offered to install the connects for the remaining zones at my cost and no labor to try and save the relationship but no bueno.

This whole C4/Sonos debacle has taught me one thing, you can no longer integrate items and expect them to work in this day in age, especially with services like spotify in the mix dictating things. For now on its X connects for x amount of zones. No more matrices, no more integration. If sonos works for the client then they are getting a stack of sonos in their rack and will have to use two different platforms... Its only a matter of time before pandora, deezer you name it follow in spotifys footsteps and bone everyone.
