Software engineers live on coffee for the most part. If you try to stop, they'll eventually find you staring blanking at the screen, with drool all down the front of your shirt. If you are lucky they can hook you up to the intravenous Mr. Coffee and bring you back, but it doesn't always work. It's one of the ugly little secrets of the trade.
According to the article i posted, Americans drink coffee for the caffeine hit to get through work etc. Aussies don't. We drink it for relaxation, socializing and for the flavour which is savoured. This is why the only Starbucks left in Australia are at airports. They failed dismally because we don't buy coffee just for the caffeine hit and free Wi-Fi.
