no, not what I am talking about. you can screw in the plate too tight and the plate bends, dips, warps. unrelated to the wall. The wall can be perfectly flat and the faceplate can still warp.
But, now that you mention it, I would still blame the electrician for using fugged up plates on a fugged up wall. Why highlight the warped wall with the type of place that would only enhance the bad craftsmanship of others? Still a FAIL!
