I was thinking about this the other day. There has to be weird odds and ends things that dealers want.. Weather its some bracket to fit in a key hole of a switch to make it easier to wall mount or something to hold a remote etc..

What type of little plasticy things do you think would be cool to make for the AV Industry?

I have a black, plastic, drip tray cover for our 18 year old refrigerator's water dispenser that is in bad shape. GE doesn't make it any longer and we were thinking about having someone make a new one using a 3D printer.

How would you scan such an item?

How about the outlet plates of yesteryears? You know the ridge plastics that would not bend or warp? Sure they maybe "breakable", but a pro would know how to install them.

These plates now a days warp too easily, at least the ones my boss gets.

King, I HATE those! SO many electricians use them and they look SO freaking cheap! Build a million dollar home and you see a bank of switches that look all wobbly warped. Crazy. I would not accept that in my house for sure. Then again, thats what screwless faceplates are for lol.

Well I was working for an electrician when I worked with them. And they were being installed in $250K plus condos. We also happened to work on the GC's personal home. As you can imagine he makes a hefty check, and his wife works in the operating room at a hospital. So she makes over $250 as well. The house is on a private road and it's over a million.

Guess what... we installed the designer plates, where it has a screw on top and another on the bottom. And of course, the warpy plates. But, it was amazing seeing the crappy craftsmanship through out the house. The support beams for the stair case railing? They were all crooked in each of their own way. They purchased wood flooring that was supposedly $30 a piece. But they were 99% particle board with the top part to look like wood. Drop something on it, and it's chipped.

Y'all have such limited thinking.

Do you have the specs for a 10 gallon still?

And you blame the electricians for warped walls? Huh?

no, not what I am talking about. you can screw in the plate too tight and the plate bends, dips, warps. unrelated to the wall. The wall can be perfectly flat and the faceplate can still warp.

But, now that you mention it, I would still blame the electrician for using fugged up plates on a fugged up wall. Why highlight the warped wall with the type of place that would only enhance the bad craftsmanship of others? Still a FAIL!
