Since I have been planning for my own system, and talking with a neighbor about it, he started asking questions. His budget is pretty weak so I started looking at some options. He has the same basic floor plan I do, and liked my plan to put the speakers in ceiling. I narrowed it to these 2. I have installed some of the REV8LCR.1 before but did not ever really have a chance to do any focused listening..... and it has been a while ago.

The 1700 Point 6 looks the part..... And the reviews on the 1700 line in general are good. But I have not seen nor heard them.

I do not suppose anyone has done both, or even one or the other and can provide your thoughts? My gut says go with whatever is cheaper. But it is pretty much a wash between the 2. I gave him my old Klipsch Subwoofer last fall when I saw him tossing a theater in a box system in the trash. He said his wife had gotten it for him for a gift and it sounded horrible. I think they must have had an argument about it and that was his way of winning. :)
