I installed a Lts wifi camera, it's just a rebranded hikvision, for my sister and it had a setting to set it up as a ad-hoc wifi point. I didn't use that because I was hooking it up to her wifi there but you might want to look into that. Also you can do a IP camera with a small wifi router, something like a airport express, to broadcast a wifi signal that you can connect to.
