Met with a prospective client today. She is the manager of a small community that has had a few cars being broken into. She wants to add 1 camera on a light pole right at the main entrance to the community and one camera at the rear entrance to the community. We have done something similar to this but we did 4 cameras on 1 pole with a outdoor NVR mounted to the pole also. The NVR was large and would look goofy if i did the same setup at this new community. Also the NVR only comes in 4 channel and i really only need a one channel DVR/NVR. The cameras are very far away from each other so i cant use 1 NVR and wire the rear camera to the front post where the NVR is. Anyone run into this issue before? Is there a solution out there that a ip camera with a built in NVR or analog with a DVR? I know there are cameras that have sd cards but they would like the system to be reviewed without haveing to take the sd card out. So the system/ camera would need some kind of wifi.
Thanks

How long do you need recording to last?

Why can't you review footage from SD card while it's still in the camera?

Can you get 2 seperate NVRs in close proximity and either run wire or wireless to them?

Is there no network cabling to run signal from one camera closer to the second and use single NVR?

How are they going to review footage if signal/feed is not going to run to some display/network/feed?

the recording would be nice at minimal if it lasted a week
how would you review footage with the sd card still in the camera
the 2 poles are to far away to have a nvr half way between them
the previous system we did had its own wifi with no internet access that you could connect to and see the nvr and cameras

I did sub work for a guy who installed cameras around a neighborhood. They were mobotix cameras. We installed them on houses around the neighborhood and hooked them up to the houses internet. They set the cameras to record to a NVR at the HOA office where they gave access codes for the cameras to all the residents.

If you didn't want to go thru all that, you can probably put a IP camera with a sd card slot and run a cable down the pole where you can connect a computer to it to see the recordings.

Hikvision wi-fi cameras with SD card slot. Yo can review the footage with the iVMS4500 app just like you would one of their NVR's. Assuming you can get wifi to each cam.

Point to point WiFi setup.
Depending on distance and terrain, you could go for miles and miles

The wifi point to point wouldnt work b/c there is no line of sight to either camera or a location where a nvr would be. The client doesnt want to have use homeowners internet also. I kind of like the sd camera idea with a cable running down to plug into. The perfect setup would be a camera that has its own little wifi system that you could connect to.

OK, so how would the camera(s) be powered?
My mechanic told me, "I couldn't repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder."

The cameras will be on new light poles that an electrician is putting up and he will give us 120 however we want it. So power isnt an issue we can get whatever we need.

I installed a Lts wifi camera, it's just a rebranded hikvision, for my sister and it had a setting to set it up as a ad-hoc wifi point. I didn't use that because I was hooking it up to her wifi there but you might want to look into that. Also you can do a IP camera with a small wifi router, something like a airport express, to broadcast a wifi signal that you can connect to.

What was the model # of the camera you used. I cant seem to find any Lts cameras with an sd card slot
