That's +4 dB in my experience. And yes, it's after giving the explanation. I LOVE IT when someone asks about the rear speakers when they're listening to a news broadcast or a narrated documentary.
Does anybody have a favorite scene from a recent movie that has screaming surround? My faves in the past have been the Harrier scene from "True Lies," a scene cut in "Far and Away" that goes from a dark tenement to open skies on the prairie, and even the beginning scene of "Always."
Years ago I had a similar discussion with an air conditioning installer who always set his systems to make ice cubes on day one.
