Only advantage is OSX can use AirPlay for everything as it is a system service while Windows can only use AirPlay via iTunes or 3rd part software that just barely works.
Both OS can use iTunes, iCloud and HomeSharing in iTunes.
Other than that Apple TV really doesn't care if you have a computer at all, it just cares if you have an iTunes account.
