Interesting, I just came here for a similar question to another thread but didn't want to hijack it. In my case there are quite a few homes with Cat5 at the TV location and no way to run a cable. I could sell the owners an extender for every device (3 or 4) and be done with it but I think I am much better off going with a single extender and a video switch or A/V receiver. (no speakers in these homes) What are your suggestions?
I believe Yamaha to be the cheapest A/V receiver for an application like this but do they allow HDMI audio pass through or do you recommend another solution?
