I'm glad you posted this shameless plug.
I think home running would be best. Keep in mind is going to limit you around 100 megabits of throughput.
Also if the switches are working but dying it may be worth it to look at doing something that can take the heat but at the same time the kits are not that expensive and would cost considerably less than a wide temp range switch
Because the products are using POE+ or a 56 volt power supply (optional) there is no pretty rack holder for them :( Maybe a clamping rack shelf would work?
They fit in the JAP rack shelf holder.
