Went out on a friend's boat with his family (fairly extended) for the best fireworks I have seen- we were anchored about 500 yards from shore, outside of the middle of the three barges they used for launching. It was well synchronized and really spectacular. The last flourish was a large group of huge displays that spread out over hundreds of yards and then, one went straight up through the middle and burst over everything else.
[Link: facebook.com]Here's the boat- he just got it (mostly his wife's idea) and it handles incredibly well. We took it out on Friday, for the shake-down cruise when he bought it, then again on Saturday- he decided to hang out about halfway through the cruise, so he asked if I wanted to be in charge. Easier to dock in a side wind than the other boat, too.
When we were heading back last night, we towed another boat in that had stopped running, too.
All together, sounds like one incredible day on the water. Most boats serve "hero beer" when you tow them in!!
