If you select a different input on the AVR, say Blue Ray. Does the OSD work with and with out the xBox plugged into the AVR? Just making sure the xBox isn't over powering the HDMI switcher on the AVR.

You said that you turned off all of the bells and whistles on the xBox, how about on the AVR? Like upscaling and what not.

Thanks for helping. I moved the Xbox to another tested/working AVR input. The behavior is the same: I get a "no signal" on the TV screen until I unhook the game from the input. Boom OSD comes back.

Marantz has confirmed this model AVR does not allow any selectable output scaling.
