AT&T has been slow to run fiber in our area. However, we do have a local co-op phone company that has been building fiber service like crazy. Actually, they created a subsidiary so their execs can draw double salaries, they don't have to give rebates on the Internet and tv side, and they can expand into AT&T territories while still keeping competition out of their co-op territory.
