We're Comcast customers and I want to have them increase our speed from 25 to 100.
I do not want their crappy modem/router/telephone device and would like to supply my own, or at least use the Comcast model we've been using so far which is a Ubee DDM3513 -- DOCSIS 3.0. From what I can see online, it supports more than enough speed for what I need.
Is DOCSIS 3.0 the latest spec?
That has a 4 channel bonding for download and 4 channel upload. Technically it's enough for the 150 speeds they are advertising. However, it's right on the edge.
Check out your modem's main page. Typically 192.168.100.1 That is what I gathered from the user manual for your modem. Login and see what each channel is getting. All four channels should be operating. If not, then there's a problem. Maybe the modem is starting to fail, hence only half the speed.
