I think he's running out of room.
I'm dealing with the same issue on a job, due to the new TV being higher in height, it would go into the ceiling were the soundbar still in place..
Remove the soundbar and the TV is abut 2" from the ceiling...
Me, I'm pushing for a "down and out" wall mount, with the soundbar mounted where it will be just above the TV in the viewing position.
It's either that or using the TV speakers.... :-(
