I have a client who has a 52 inch sony over a fireplace with a leon sound bar over it. They want to replace it with a 75 inch TV. I was thinking about putting the tv on a articulating arm pulling it out a couple inches and putting a inwall lcr behind the TV. Has anybody done this ? Does this sound good?

Wait, what?
You want to install speakers behind the TV?

You going to 'force' them to pull the TV out every time they want to watch/listen to TV?

Mario,

I think he's running out of room.

I'm dealing with the same issue on a job, due to the new TV being higher in height, it would go into the ceiling were the soundbar still in place..

Remove the soundbar and the TV is abut 2" from the ceiling...

Me, I'm pushing for a "down and out" wall mount, with the soundbar mounted where it will be just above the TV in the viewing position.

It's either that or using the TV speakers.... :-(

I have seen it done with a stereo zone. Sounds okay. Not sure what it would sound like for surround.

Mount the speakers to each side. Use the other LEON mount.
I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.

Sell them in ceiling speakers. They want bigger tv, you want bigger job.

Or-----don't shoot me, tell them to sack up and put some fu-$ing floor standing speakers in the room and enjoy some fu-$ing music!!!

The evil side of me wants to say. "Why not, they're forcing their body to watch TV at a higher than comfortable viewing level. As well as making me install it there too."

Artison or another custom brand that makes speakers the exact height of the TV, mounting to the left and right.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

Is this a real wood fireplace or gas with a vertical flue? If so... I'll be the first to bring up the heat issue if it is. How long will those speaker cones/coils/etc last?

+2 on the Artison's. We recently did a set on a Sammy 78" curved. Perfect solution
