There is no feedback. The only benefit is no IR blaster on the front. If all you need is power on and off and don't want to open the TV to ember IR or dont' have the bluetooth area then I can see the point. Or if you want to use IP and need a way to turn it on.
There are a few other benefits. You can set the volume level. That allows you to show feedback as a function of the level your code sets. It will track since you've set the level on turn on. You cannot do this with IR. It is a rather simple protocol, check sum or not.
