I haven't noticed anything. my rears are actually over the dining room table. The idea was I could put the system in 5 channel stereo when eating for music. But sometimes I just turn the tv on when eating. sitting under the rears I haven't noticed any static, and we do watch several CBS shows. Maybe it's your cable provider or your receiver.
