Hey Fins...

I have been hearing static in the rear speakers of my 5.1 system on CBS. Most notably Supergirl and Scorpion, there maybe other shows though. I do know when it's on my local news, WFSB, everything is fine. But when it's on a national program such as the previous two, the rear speakers are full of static.

The static can be heard when the AVR is in stereo as well. However, if I bypass the AVR and listen through the TV speakers. The static is gone. I can only assume that it's because the AVR is either only sending a 2.0, rather than the 7.1 that CBS broadcasts in, or my TV only decodes 2.0.

Nevertheless, then next time you watch Supergirl or whatever. Let me know if you hear static in the rear speakers. I assume that you have a Dolby Digital AVR and at the very least 5.1.
