I thought there was doubt when this Apple TV came out as to whether it could be controlled by IR, and people found yes, it could be. Doesn't that mean the alternative was IP? Did IP control of this never work, or work and then stop?

It was IR Vs Bluetooth as the new remote is Bluetooth. Result-yes IR also works.

The conversation then moved to arguments over where the IR receiver was on the device. Result - center point on front face.

Now it is which IR code set works. Result - Gen1/2/3 seem to work with Gen4

I found doing a URC MX-900 today that AUX->Apple-> last code set on list (forget name) worked without problems
