The theory on IR remote control on page 130 of the manual is a bad sign. I've only seen that in cases where the egghead who wrote the manual was more interested in patting himself on the back for knowing so much than he is interested in telling us what the hell codes to use.

I also don't get that the IR signal is to be a "Single pulse, modulated with 37.917kHz signal at 455kHz." Is that what we call a 38 kHz signal or the almost never used 455 kHz signal?

A remote control is shown. This implies IR is possible.

But the kicker is this: the manual is for so many models that there's no way to tell if it applies to this one.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
