chat with LG support says no IR control. Is this correct?

If not what IR codeset/device do you recommend using (for use with RTI/ProControl)?

Anyone have a cml file to share?

Thanks.

its silent regarding IR.

Its vague regarding RS-232 in that it doesn't specify which RS-232 connector this model has - it shows the different connectors that might be on the TV.

Also regarding rs232 - there are posts on the RTI forum indicating issues with recent LG tv control via RS232 though not specific to the oled.

Crestron shop. It responded to gen 2 LG serial ( XB 1 90-93 ). Serial is serial though, even in RTI or C4. I could have syntax wrong; writing the string from memory.

Geez...First, it's NOT VESA compliant and requires a custom wall-mount. Now it's not IR controllable...? What the hell is LG smoking!?!

Please--Someone tell me there's an IR window somewhere on this TV. I've got one alread sold as a drop-in for a Panny plasma with RTI to IR control...

Can anyone confirm IR?

If you look at CAD drawings of the LG I think you'll understand why it's not VESA compliant. I don't know if IR works but remote is Bluetooth. I also had issues with the newest SONY which has Bluetooth remote. No IR code in my DB worked but the unit controlled easily over LAN. But the picture.....!

Installed one yesterday and it seems to have an IR window. Going back today to finish the install.

thank you. Do you know which rti IR device can be used?

btw. LG dealer support says the Power/Volume/Ch are controlled via IR on this TV. This was after 2 other support inquiries (chat/email) came up with "no".

The theory on IR remote control on page 130 of the manual is a bad sign. I've only seen that in cases where the egghead who wrote the manual was more interested in patting himself on the back for knowing so much than he is interested in telling us what the hell codes to use.

I also don't get that the IR signal is to be a "Single pulse, modulated with 37.917kHz signal at 455kHz." Is that what we call a 38 kHz signal or the almost never used 455 kHz signal?

A remote control is shown. This implies IR is possible.

But the kicker is this: the manual is for so many models that there's no way to tell if it applies to this one.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

IR worked. Used the LG tv device from the procontrol library. Positioned the flasher on the left side of the LG logo bump at the bottom of the set.

Think of all the Dtv, Dish, and cable customers who would be pissed off if they had to use another remote to turn the TV on or change the volume. I am not saying it would be a surprise if one day a tv manufacturer decides to forgo IR control. But I do not any of them are prepared to deal with the backlash at this time.
