Between age 17-19 i lived on Sedgwick and Blackhawk. This is a couple blocks down from where Cabrini Green was. Every day when the sun went down you could hear gun fire for a few minutes like some sort of moon ritual.
I remember when the lady mayor of Chicago moved in to Cabrini Green to prove it was safe. lol, that didn't last long. We lived in suburbs, but what a shitty place. The year we moved away was the year that "The Warriors" came out... everyone in the whole city thought they were a gang banger.
