Sure, I've been doing this since the introduction of Sonos, but the detail of remembering the previous source's Volume setting is not trivial (or even possible for some controllers).
This was a feature that I described and requested of Sony last year after these receivers first shipped and it was clear this feature was missing. I was pretty surprised when Sony listened and actually implemented this firmware update.
FWIW, the Music Connect feature also works with Sony's HiRes music players as well: HAPS1 and HAPZ1 which are more music servers and less music streamers. The advantage these have is they can play much higher quality audio files (192/24, DSD) than Sonos and they will store your entire music collection.
