In my mind, lane splitting should only be done in stop and go traffic when you have a bike that is air cooled. Other wise the engine will not be able to keep cool when a biker is moving with the traffic, or lack thereof moving.
Of course, you got the idiots in the videos above taking advantage of lane splitting.
