I'm the "other" person Lyndel mentioned who was trying to build MP3 support onto SNL. I'd be happy to share my progress with you and to see if we're even using the same approach.
Lyndel - Sorry I stopped responding to your emails, I've been busy traveling for work. Which hasn't left me much time to work on this project...
