im not sure i follow you here. the extra money you are paying for a mac is definitely not directly related to performance. you can build an exact specced machine from hp and save alot of money, dump in 3 years and repeat. I never said to not max it out.

ease understand that I'm a windows guy. I've never owned a mac so everyone stop with the fanboi-ish bull crap talk. I'm not looking at a Mac book becAuse I'm some fanboi that s trying to look cool. I'm honestly trying to get a better laptop.
I spent $1800 or so on my Lenovo when new and it was decent but spent an edge $500 in upgrades and it's not the same build quality as macs that I've used from Clients.
So so far every Dell, Blade and HP I've looked at with beefed up hardware has been damn near the same price or more than a similar MBP.
build quality doesn't just mean it can handle a drop, it's also the fit and feel of using the damn thing.
