The wifi is only for getting metadata from the xp and for programming. No driver runs on a remote. They all must run on xp. The remotes also can not do any ip control directly. This also requires xp.

The t2x has 433mhz for the RP series processors which allow one way control, 2.4ghz for the XP processors and two way device control. However the 2.4gjz zigbee is too slow for things like getting cover art or loading a weather radar image. These things must be done via wifi to the XP processor. Also with an xp processor in place you can wake the remote up over the zigbee network the. Send the programming to it over wifi.
