Yep, in our area, we've got all these Amazon, Microsoft and Google employees--- thousands and thousands --- al high income young guys... their cars of choice are Teslas, it seems. My neighbor has one, and if I had the money, I'd buy one!

I have a short commute to work. They really are amazing machines. In terms of putting a huge load on the grid... not too sure about that. Of course we have a lot of electrical juice out here due to our hydro electric dams.

A buddy of mine just got a new E63, and yes, it is fast and loud and fun... but my neighbor has a Tesla S, and that thing would SMOKE the Mercedes... all without a sound! He punched it the other day, and my sunglasses ended up in the back seat. corners amazing well and it is so wierd, the lack of noise... Love that car.
