I did not need to cut the battery case I don't think. I did that mostly because that is how my backlight got broken in the first place. There is a little inductor there (small square component with a thin wire wrapped around it) that broke off after I dropped it. I wanted to avoid that problem and it did look a little tight against the battery pack so I cut out the area that it was pressing against. That was mostly for peace of mind.

I recomded you get a replacement. It will should not cost you anything because you already paid for it. You ordered screen G and got screen A, I think it is totally reasobable to expect either a refund or the correct screen. Even if it does not make your screen any better, having a backup that you already paid for is a nice too. :)

I am giving my Pronto to a friend and will let him do the shipping and receiving if he wants me to call and find out about the correct replacement.
