Did you learn the codes or use some from the various files available?

Not exactly the same issue, but I have spent countless hours trouble shooting a small system. After looking at the programming, the laptop etc, I finally tried all the commands (when the remote was working) only to find 1 satellite code (a button not used all the time) would send the system into some crazy state rendering it unusable.
Corrected the code, and all has worked fine for years now.

I agree with some of the above, yes RTI had a bad batch of remotes and they caused a lot of people a lot of grief. But in the end, they offer products that when programmed well can handle a huge variety of systems, and they offer a "programming" environment that is pretty easy to use.
