Only other thing I can say is try rebooting the remote then plug right in. Or wait til ID says it can't connect, unplug remote, reboot and plug in. That works for me at times.
And I'll also admit Rti in the past had a bad run of t2c and t3 remotes that caused a ton of problems for us as dealers. Most guys who have been around a while know this was an issue that was caused when they had to switch to a lead free solder and the company they used for it did bad solder joints on hundreds or remotes causing the remote to white screen. Besides those remotes overall the failure rate is pretty damn low. I still have oringal t2 with IRF-6 in the field and only thing that's ever needed to be swapped out was the batteries. Which after close to a dozen years is completely expected
